Heliographic Printed Silk Scarves (scroll down to bottom of page to see scarves)
Using natural items found in my garden along with the Oregon sunshine produces the soft and organic designs in these heliographic printed scarves. The dye is applied to the fabric, natural items are then arranged on top of the dye and the Oregon sunshine takes over and leaves the natural impressions on the fabric while uncovered areas of the scarf take on the dye in a more complete manner. Each scarf is uniquely its own work and differs based on the choice of dye, how it is applied, what natural items are selected and how long they are anchored to the fabric during the process. The design depends upon the position of the Oregon sun as well as the air temperature and humidity.
All scarves are 100% silk (crepe is more see through - chiffon is more opaque) - machine wash, dry, iron if desired.
I hope you enjoy the designs shown below!
